Breaking from tradition of previous administrations, President Obama hoped to gain the respect and recognition of Muslims as he moves towards a resolution or strategy of commitment to united people around the world.
During his speech to approximately 3500 in Cairo the capital of Egypt, President Obama was greeted with frequent applauses and shouts of "We love you Obama." His speech was emotionally charged and maintained the central theme that peace was the goal and the action we take moving forward would be significant. He further prolifically stated the golden rule of all religions that we seek to treat one another with dignity and respect.
With expectations high and hopeful the audience greeted President Obama with a standing ovation and most importantly when he left the podium at the end, they issued another standing ovation.
President Obama opened a door to peace in the middle east that may be the shift that could result in the achievement of lasting freedom and rights to all people in the region.
