Obama ambitiously pursues plan to bring high speed rail to America!

Imagine that America's rail system which currently trails the rest of the developed world may have high speed service in a city near you!

Currently the fastest service offered by Amtrak is service on the Acela Express connecting Boston to Washington DC at speeds of 100 mph. No comparison to the 300 mph offered by rail services in Spain, France, China and Japan.

If you've travelled abroad you have likely boarded one of these high speed trains and experienced the comfort and speed of such remarkable service connecting you to major international cities.

The President's focus on America's need for an improved and advanced rail system addresses his campaign promises to reduce our dependency on foreign oil and the promise to create jobs now and in the future. This plan allows for long term economic growth and preservation to the environment.

High speed rail will give Americans the opportunity to forgo the long security lines at airports and avoid traffic jams on highways and most importantly enjoy the use of modern technology like cellphones, blackberries and computers which have become a moment to moment way of living.

There's nothing like a train ride to your destination while you are free to sleep, read, or simply observe the scenic route. Not to mention eliminating road rage, or a cramped airline seat. Rail seating is comfortable, relaxing and one of the safest forms of transportation.
